Guidelines for oral and poster presentations

Poster Presentation Guidelines

Please be advised that there will be no guided poster tours. However, we kindly request that the main authors be present at their respective posters during the poster viewing session to engage in discussions.

Posters must be in portrait (upright) format and should adhere to the following dimensions: 90 cm in width and 120 cm in height. Posters can be installed from 3 December 2024 at 5:00 PM and must be removed by 5 December 2024 at 6:00 PM.

Please affix your poster to the designated panel marked with your assigned poster number. Fixing materials will be provided and distributed on-site in the poster area.

Oral Presentation Guidelines

Presentation Duration Guidelines
The duration for each type of presentation is as follows:
Keynote Lecture (KL): 25 minutes (including presentation, questions, and discussion)
Invited Lecture (IL): 15 minutes (including presentation, questions, and discussion)
Oral Presentation – Regular (OR): 15 minutes (including presentation, questions, and discussion)
Oral Presentation – Student (OS): 7 minutes and 30 seconds (presentation only, no questions or discussion) We kindly request that all speakers strictly adhere to these time limits to ensure a smooth and timely program.

Presentation Submission Instructions
Please submit your presentation at the file reception area located at the registration and information desk in front of the lecture hall. To ensure smooth transitions between sessions, we recommend submitting your presentation the day before your scheduled talk or, at the latest, during the break preceding your session.

Presentations should be provided via USB memory stick for upload to the conference room's computer.

If you wish to use your own laptop for your presentation, you may do so by connecting to the conference system via the HDMI cable provided by the organizers. Please ensure your device is compatible with HDMI to avoid any technical issues.

Presentation Format
Presentations must be prepared for Microsoft PowerPoint 2010 or compatible software in a Windows-compatible format (*.ppt/*pptx) or Adobe PDF. Please note that there will be no MAC equipment available. If your presentation is created in a different program or an earlier version of PowerPoint, ensure compatibility with PowerPoint 2010. For users of MS PowerPoint, we recommend saving your presentation in .ppt/pptx format rather than .pps/ppsx.

All presentations will be displayed in a resolution of 1920x1080 pixels (landscape 16:9). Please use high-contrast lettering and fonts with a minimum size of 16pt, and select high-contrast layouts, such as light text on dark backgrounds.

Fonts
Please note that only fonts included in the basic installation of MS-Windows 10 (English version) will be available for use. The use of other fonts not included in Windows can result in an incorrect layout or style of your presentation.

We recommend using fonts such as Arial or Tahoma. If you must use different fonts, please ensure that they are embedded into your presentation.

Further Information
During your presentation, you will have control over the slides and their movement using a remote control for PowerPoint. Please ensure that you check the functionality of this remote in the lecture hall in advance.

We kindly request that you arrive at the session room at least 10 minutes before the session begins. This allows you to familiarize yourself with the technical and other equipment and test your presentation with the on-site PC.
